We are a Non - Profit Veterans Organization. Established in 1920 to help our veterans, their families and our community.
Dear American Legion Member,
My name is Nick Wade Sr. and I am the new Commander of the Van Wert Post 178 American Legion. I served in the Army for 9 years. I am married with 4 children and 13 grandchildren. I have been a member of the American Legion for 20 years, Vietnam Veterans of American for 27 years, Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) for 20 years and Disabled American Veterans for 10 years.
I know that you may have lost faith in your American Legion over the past few years and I would like you to know that I have worked hard from the jump to assemble a TEAM of people that like me want nothing more than to bring this post back to the family values we started with.
We are hoping to accomplish this in many ways throughout the year however, we need our members to help us accomplish this goal. So if you're asking what can I do, here are a few suggested ways to help. One, Come to meeting and find out what is going on with your post. Two, Volunteer to help with events, planning committees, Tuesday night meals, etc. Three, bring your family and/or friends in for dinner once a week/month. Four, Join us for the Football Season and bring friends and family. Five, follow us on Social Media and share on yours.
Help us get back to our mission of focusing on the well being of our veterans, their families and communities through advocacy, mutual helpfulness and patriotism. Which we can only do when we are all at our best.
If you would like to help, get some information, or just want to express cares and concerns please don't hesitate to come in or call.
Sincerely,
Nick Wade Sr.
Commander of American Legion Post 178 Van Wert, Ohio
